Pernille Tornøe (b. 1989 Aarhus) is a Copenhagen based film producer. She has been freelancing on varies productions while studying at Copenhagen University from 2011-2015 before enrolling to The National Film School of Denmark’s producer program in 2015. She graduated in 2019 with the film “Below the Waves, Above the Clouds” directed by Katrine Brocks, which was nominated for a Danish Academy Award in 2020. Pernille was associate producer on the feature film “Team Hurricane” (2017) and produced the documentary “Dreaming Murakami” (2018) as well as several short films before and during her time at film school. Right after graduating, Pernille co-founded the Copenhagen-based production company Monolit Film. Pernilles feature film debut as a producer “The Great Silence”, directed by Katrine Brocks, premiered at San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2022. Since then the film has travelled to varies festivals, where it won the Roger Ebert Award at Chicago International Film Festival and Best Feature Film Debut at Nordic Film Days Lübeck. It premiered locally in Denmark in January 2023.
